Miki makes it Two for Patronize

Patronize popped up with a winning double at Belmont on Saturday thanks to his consistent sprinters Jest Envy Her and Miki Two Toes.

Jest Envy Her (4m Patronize – Jestceny by Real Jester) won the Bruce Kelley Memorial (1000m) for owner-breeder Clive Atwell.  “She’s tough and versatile,” trainer David Harrison declared.  “It doesn’t matter whether the tracks are wet or dry, she tries her heart out every time.”

Harrison also prepares her older brother Jestpatim and, together, they have earned over $280,000 for the Atwell family who stand Patronize at Darling View Thoroughbreds in Mundijong.

Miki Two Toes completed the Patronize double in the PR Ultimate Sports Day Hcp (1200m).  He ran down front-runner Our Pu Bear to register his fourth win in town after breaking his maiden at Bunbury last year.

“He had a very hard run first-up in July and then Anne (King) sent him to me last month,” trainer Adam Durrant said.  “It took him a while to recover – he wasn’t running through the line but we added a tongue-tie and he sprinted home off a hot speed today.”

Miki Two Toes (4g Patronize – Nippon Pearl by Marooned) cost $15,000 at the 2011 Perth Magic Millions and has earned over $140,000 for owners John and Anne King.  He hails from the family of Champion British sprinter Habibti

Patronize (Redoute’s Choice) is a three-quarter brother to Exceed And Excel and he covered over 50 mares in 2013.  He is standing for a $4,400 (inc gst) fee this year.
