Justice prevails for VOBIS

Contract Racing gelding Rough Justice collected the most incentives offered by VOBIS during season 2014-15.

The son of Eliza Park International sire Wanted claimed $84,000 for his connections to beat home Radical (Dubleo) and Jurasound (Von Costa de Hero).  The Top 10 on the VOBIS premiership were all by different sires and 7 of them stand in Victoria.

Contract Racing’s David and Jenny Moodie topped the owner leader-board with $359,900 to defeat Darley and Dorrington Farm’s Rob Crabtree.

The VOBIS sire premiership went to Eliza Park International legend Bel Esprit ($400,000).  His EPI associate Magnus was a close second followed by Woodside Park’s Written Tycoon.  Among the Top 10 were 8 Victorian based stallions.

The premierships are based on the total level of VOBIS Gold and Super VOBIS bonuses earned through the season. They do not include prizemoney gained in the lucrative VOBIS Gold Premier Race Series.

In 2014-15, more than $7.50 million was handed out through Super VOBIS and VOBIS Gold bonuses across Victorian racecourses.

The 2015-16 season offers even more for VOBIS horses including the expansion of the VOBIS Gold Premier Race Series to a record $2.80 million over 15 races.  VOBIS Gold nominations for current season two-year-olds are due by August 31.
