Inglis Charity Boxing

The countdown has begun for the Inglis Charity Boxing at Randwick this Saturday night.

It promises to be one the biggest charity sporting events of the 2014 calendar with all moneys raised going to the Black Dog Institute and Young Guns Foundation.

The Black Dog Institute is dedicated to improving lives for people with mood disorders and Young Guns Foundation is a program that assists and develops youth in sport and discipline.

The event is fully sanctioned by the NSW Amateur Boxing Association and each match will be 3 x 2 minute rounds.

Gun jockeys Kathy O’Hara and Jessie Whipp will get in the ring and among the Hunter Valley contestants are Conor Phelan from Vinery Stud and Matt Lawler from Yarraman Park.

And word is filtering through from Sydney’s south-west that several would-be pugilists will weigh-in from Warwick Farm.

Ambassador for the event is Gold Logie winner Scotty Cam from The Block and MC will be Triple M Host Maroon.  An auction of memorabilia includes a weekend for 8 at the historic Vinery Homestead and signed racing silks for current Melbourne Cup favourite The Offer, Darley and Woodlands.

The famous all cerise silks of Woodlands has been signed by Jack Ingham, Bob Ingham, John Hawkes, Darren Beadman, Darren Gauci, Shane Dye and Larry Cassidy.

Tickets are priced from $40 for the Inglis Charity Boxing night which commences at 7pm this Saturday at Inglis Stables, Young Street, Randwick.
