Dozen winners for Canford Cliffs

Blue Gum Farm shuttler Canford Cliffs (Ire) has stolen a march on his first-season rivals in Europe with 12 individual winners this year.

Topping the dozen are Painted Cliffs (G2 Railways St) and Most Beautiful (G3 Grangecon Stud St).  Coolmore Stud sire Zoffany is next best with 9 individual winners.

Justice Lass made it 12 in the British Stallion Studs EBF Stakes (1000m) at Windsor’s Monday evening meeting.  The David Elsworth trained filly made all the pace and was then driven clear to score by three lengths from USA bred Little Voice (Scat Daddy).

Justice Lass (Ire) was racing for the third time on Monday and collected a 10,000 pounds bonus for owner Robert Ng.  One of several talented horses racing for Ng, she is out of stakes performer Dibiya (Caerleon) who won up to 2800m.

Elsworth is a canny trainer and knows a decent horse when he sees it and Justice Lass could have potential.  He did enter her for the major two-year-old races at Royal Ascot and she also holds a nomination for the Weatherbys Hamilton 2YO Stakes worth 300,000 pounds in September.

Canford Cliffs stands for $13,750 (inc gst) at Blue Gum Farm this year.  Justice Lass was his fourth new winner in a week following Lady Clair (Catterick) last Wednesday and Al Jazi & Pitou (Maisons-Laffitte) on Sunday.
