Day 2 Inglis Sale – Extremely exceeds expectations for Bell River

YuLong Investments topped the first session of breeding stock at the Inglis Sale on Monday with $735,000 for Hussonet mare Extremely.

The dam of this year’s Blue Diamond Stakes winner Extreme Choice (Not A Single Doubt) was sold carrying a full sibling to the Group 1 colt.  YuLong Investments fought off Aquis Farm and Newgate Farm to land the final bid.

Extremely headlined the dispersal of Bell River’s 24 mares that averaged $125,354.  “The sale has been unbelievable,” studmaster Andrew Ferguson said.  “The results have way exceeded our expectations.”

The Gooree Park and Think Big Stud reductions also drew plenty of interest from a strong buying bench.  The latter sold Group 1 winning filly Faint Perfume, in foal to Redoute’s Choice, for $700,000 to Sun Bloodstock.

“She was a really talented mare in foal to a great stallion, so we’re delighted to be able to buy her,” Sun’s David O’Callaghan said.  “She will visit one of Sun Stud’s resident stallions this season.”

Third on the Monday leader-board at $600,000 was Newgate Farm’s Group 3 winning mare Pane In the Glass.  She was sold to James Harron Bloodstock in foal to Deep Field.

Day 2 of the Inglis Sale saw 192 lots change hands at an average of $74,321 with a 90% clearance rate.
