Craven colts enhance Equiano

Equiano (Fr) began a busy week at the Tattersalls Craven 2YO Sale when two of his colts made a total of 132,000 guineas (AUD 249,510).

The Swettenham Stud shuttler has 7 lots catalogued for the Doncaster 2YO Sale starting this Wednesday and another 4 yearlings entered for the Inglis VOBIS Gold Sale commencing this Sunday.

Tattersalls sold his colts from Merle (Selkirk) for 70,000gns to the Penang Turf Club and from Irish Light (Irish River) to agent Stephen Hillen for 62,000gns.

Merle is an unraced half-sister to Newmarket and Sandown G3 winner Solo Mio.  USA bred mare Irish Light has foaled 6 winners including G1 Irish Phoenix Stakes placed Polar Force.

Equiano has 5 colts and 2 fillies catalogued for the Doncaster 2YO Sale this week.  The colts include;

Lot 30 (ex Reine de Romance by Vettori)
Dam won G2 San Clemente Stakes and has foaled European winners by Johannesburg & Clodovil.

Lot 51 (ex Spiritual Healing by Invincible Spirit)
From a winning half-sister to the dam of Royal Ascot LR Chesham Stakes winner Big Audio.

Lot 93 (ex Absolute Pleasure by Polar Falcon)
Dam has foaled winners by Choisir & Dark Angel.  She is a half-sister to Soar (G2 Lowther Stakes) and Splice (LR Abernant Stakes).

Swettenham Stud has 24 yearlings, including two by Equiano, going under the hammer at the Inglis VOBIS Gold Sale at Oaklands Junction coming up this Sunday & Monday.
