Black Bess rises up ratings in England

Progressive Dick Turpin filly Black Bess saluted the judge for a second time this month at Windsor on Sunday.

Under regular rider Pat Cosgrave, she was driven out in the final furlong for a convincing victory over recent Haydock winner Wayward Hoof (Equiano).  Sunday’s race was a qualifier for the Windsor Sprint Series Final on August 15 worth 75,000 pounds (AUD 136,830).

Black Bess (3f Dick Turpin – Spring Clean by Danehill) got off the mark at Lingfield on June 2 and was value for more than a three-length margin.  She looks certain to go further up the ratings when the handicapper has the chance to re-assess her latest win.

Dick Turpin (Ire) shuttles to Mungrup Stud from the English National Stud after a career highlighted by a four-length victory in the G1 Prix Jean Prat (1600m) at Chantilly.

Standing for an $8,800 (inc gst) service fee, he is perfectly suited to a wide range of mares including those from the Sadler’s Wells, Mr Prospector and Danzig sirelines.
