Lincoln Farm stallion Beautiful Crown (USA) has been put down.  He was 23.

A syndicated son of Danzig sire Chief’s Crown, he was part-owned and managed by former Alanbridge Stud proprietor Andrew Bowcock.  “He was a wonderful character,” Bowcock said.  “He covered 100 plus mares in every book in his first 10 years here.”

Beautiful Crown was a BOBS trailblazer siring stakes winners Tom Coureuse, Bella Corona and Our Joan Of Arc.  He followed up with In Top Swing who won the $1 million Golden Rose and G1 Caulfield Guineas.

When high-flyer Nathan Tinkler purchased Alanbridge Stud, Beautiful Crown became foundation sire under the stud’s new name of Patinack Farm and stood there for four seasons.

Relocated to Lincoln Farm last year, he covered a limited book alongside second-season sire Arlington (Red Ransom).  His latest stakes winner arrived in January when Myamira motored home in the G3 Belle Of The Turf Stakes at Gosford.
